Training for all aspects of mission

We are passionate about equipping people in all aspects of mission and regularly promote and run training days and seminars around Australia for various mission roles.

These training opportunities include frequent events for those who care for missionaries in the field and at home with regular training on debriefing missionaries, missionary enrichment and re-entry retreats, and pre-field orientation for teachers who will be working with missionary kids (MKPFO). Other events focus on training for those involved in the running and governance of member organisations.

A National Conference, addressing a range of themes and current issues is held approximately every 18 months. Our next one will take place in July 2020.

We also run specialised training programs for those preparing for cross-cultural mission. Information about this training is outlined below.

Missions Interlink Short-term Training (MIST)

This is a two – three day weekend course designed to provide an environment in which participants are stimulated to think and learn more about the challenges of living and working as a short-termer in a cross-cultural setting. More information.

Transition Training (TT)

This is a ten-day, live-in intensive course providing orientation to participants preparing to live in another culture and prior to their deployment as long-term cross-cultural missionaries. More information.

Missions Interlink Language  Learning (MILL)

We also offer a pre-departure course designed to help develop the skills, techniques, methods and attitudes necessary to learn another language. More information.

MI Advanced Security Training (MAST)

Missions Interlink will hold Advanced Security Training in Adelaide in September 2018 and commence regular 2 – 3 day courses in Sydney and Melbourne in 2019 (March, July). More information.

Shorter training events to cover topics such as cyber security, travel security, security policy development, sexual assault, self-defence, and security for children are also being planned.
